Navdy is about to introduce a
new, and perhaps safer way to do voice, text and other things while driving
your car. Some new luxury cars now come
with some type of so-called “heads up” display, but this seems to take it a
step further. This video is going viral,
and was mentioned in the New York Times newspaper this week. Watch it; you
might be seeing the future.
1.
it reads hand gestures,
and there are no buttons to push
2.
it shows a
smallish screen, that appears to be 3 feet from your windshield, floating on the
hood of your car
3.
the video says
that pilots use this type of heads up for landing planes, implying it is safe,
and helpful
4.
this unit can fit
on the dash of any existing car – in front of the steering wheel
5.
it links to your
existing smart phone, a big plus for functionality and navigation
6.
they are taking
pre-orders now, it is not yet in production
Is this safe? Will it be the wave of the future? Your comments welcome.
