According to the FDA, liquid
hand soap has dominated the market and, in recent years, has been a marketing
play People tend to believe it's more hygientic, since many brands contain antibacterial chemicals like triclosan and triclocarban.
In 2016, the FDA reached a
conclusion, and banned 19 of those
chemicals – starting in 2017.
Because soap companies failed to prove that they were safe for long-term
use, or make soap more effective.
